The end for printed directories?
After more than 40 years in business, Thomson Directories has gone in to liquidation. The once popular ‘local’ directory failed to keep up with the times and has been forced to close, with a loss of 170 jobs. More here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-23710958
Thomson Directories was a direct competitor to the Yellow Pages – who changed their name to Yell before, for some bizarre reason, becoming Hibu. Since taking a Per Call site my business has probably doubled in size. Like anyone who hears about something which appears 'too good to be true' I was cynical at first, but I'm very busy while others are very quiet. That kind of says it all.
